City of Portland thinking about user fee on single use plastic bags

As you may know, in an effort to reduce the amount of plastic that enters our waste stream the City of Portland has recently begun to study the possibility of a user fee on single use bags that have been traditionally given out at checkout counters of grocery and convenience stores.
