The Executive Committee of the Maine Surfrider Chapter is made up of people from all walks of life with a common thread: we all want Maine’s ocean, waves and beaches to be healthy and accessible to all people.

Co Chair — Melinda Irving
Melinda lives in Portland and works at the USM Sullivan Gym as a Student Supervisor. She attends USM and is studying to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. When not in school or at work she enjoys surfing, biking, hiking, running and anything active in the outdoors.
Co Chair — Ryan Elizabeth Cope
Ryan is a marine scientist living and working in Newcastle and loves to talk trash. She joined up with the Maine Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation after finding out about the Rise Above Plastics Campaign and was hooked after her first beach cleanup.

Ian lives in Portland and works as a Sustainability Consultant on architectural, engineering and construction projects. He stays active surfing, snowboarding, running, camping and sailing. He enjoys live music, the outdoors, and travel.
