HAPPY EARTH DAY!

It's the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, and although we find ourselves sheltering in place for the safety of our communities, we can still make a positive change and have a virtual celebration right we are. Here are the best ways for you to make waves with Surfrider Maine and the only planet we call home.

Read more about Earth Day and how we're planning to take action on the Surfrider blog, here.

  1. DEMAND CONGRESS TAKE CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION
Join the Surfrider crew and take five minutes to raise your voice on Earth Day. Help protect your coastlines, oceans, and beaches!
  2. #SurfriderEarthDay Instagram
Post an image in your Instagram Story of a special place YOU want to be protected forever and add our “Surfrider Earth Day” sticker to your post. To add the GIF/sticker: Upload a photo to your Instagram Story, click the square sticker/face icon near the top right, click GIF, then search for “Surfrider Earth Day” (you will see GIF icon below). Now you can overlay this exclusive sticker onto your photo (see examples below). Please post to your story and be sure to tag @surfrider and @surfridermaine include add the hashtag #SurfriderEarthDay.  On Earth Day, we will repost some of our favorite images to our social media channels!
  3. Become a member of the Surfrider Maine Chapter!
Doesn't Earth Day sound like the perfect time to make it official? We are a volunteer-based organization. It's the support and spirit of our volunteers that keep our chapter going. To become a member of Surfrider Maine, go to our FB page here and click SIGN UP in the top righthand corner!
