As Maine residents, this issue hits close to home and we are the protectors of 3,478 miles of pristine coastline. It's time to take action.
While our immediate priority is the health of our community, our ongoing focus continues to be the health of our planet.
Back in February—before Covid-19 stay-at-home orders were issued—over 150 Surfrider activists (including two from the Maine chapter!), ambassadors, industry leaders and staff traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with federal leaders and discuss the risks our ocean and coasts are facing due to climate change.
For generations, humans have taken our beloved natural environment for granted. But now, more than ever, it is time for all of us to take a stand and defend our planet. Join us and demand that Congress take climate action, before it is too late.
Watch a recap of Hill Day 2020, when Surfrider members and partners visited Washington D.C. for Coastal Recreation Hill Day.
