Dune Restoration
Surfrider Maine Partners with Maine State Parks and Recreation for Coastal Dune Restoration at Reid State Park
Georgetown, Maine 1/3/25 – The Surfrider Foundation’s Maine Chapter is excited to announce a collaboration with Maine State Parks and Recreation to lead a vital coastal dune restoration project at Reid State Park in Georgetown.
The restoration project will focus on up to 500 feet of key dune areas along both Mile Beach and Half Mile Beach at Reid State Park. Designed to mitigate dune and habitat loss, the initiative aims to rebuild the natural environment that is essential for coastal resilience and ecological diversity.
